AVerMedia Announces Support for NVIDIA JetPack 7.2 Across Its Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor Portfolio

Taipei, Taiwan – July 20, 2026 – AVerMedia Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of NVIDIA Jetson-based edge AI solutions, today announced support for NVIDIA JetPack 7.2 across all applicable AVerMedia products based on NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor.

Available in beta beginning July 20, the update gives AVerMedia customers access to the latest NVIDIA JetPack software capabilities, helping accelerate the development of robotics, smart cities, and vision AI applications.

NVIDIA JetPack 7.2 introduces a major platform upgrade built on Jetson Linux 39.2, Ubuntu 24.04, and Linux kernel 6.8. It also brings Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor together on a unified JetPack 7 foundation, giving developers a more consistent software environment across current and next-generation Jetson platforms.

Key JetPack 7.2 advancements include:

• Ubuntu 24.04 and Linux kernel 6.8: Longer software support, improved security, and access to the latest Linux ecosystem.
• Official NVIDIA Yocto support: Simplifies industrial product development, OTA deployment, and long-term maintenance.
• CUDA 13.2.1 and TensorRT 10.16.2: Higher AI inference performance for LLM, vision AI, and generative AI workloads.
• Unified Jetson platform: Support across Jetson Orin and Jetson Thor reduces BSP maintenance and accelerates migration to next-generation platforms.
• Memory optimization and Agentic AI: Improved memory efficiency and native Agentic AI support enable larger AI models, more concurrent workloads, and next-generation robotics applications.

AVerMedia’s initial Ubuntu 24.04-based software release is available in beta beginning July 20, 2026. Yocto-based support is planned for the end of August 2026, providing an additional option for applications requiring customized and maintainable embedded Linux environments.

AVerMedia enables JetPack 7.2 compatibility through its customized Board Support Package, which adapts the Jetson software foundation for supported AVerMedia platforms. 

As a beta release, the software is intended for early evaluation, application integration, and testing. AVerMedia will continue validating and refining the release based on internal testing and customer feedback as it progresses toward production availability.
